I would like to say that I always loved to cook and have done so since I was a little girl. But a few years back I burned rice when cooking it and once almost set the microwave on fire in the attempt to defrost bread roles.
I always appreciated a good meal though. I just didn’t cook it myself. When I moved to Sydney to study, my whole view on food started to change. I was in charge of filling the fridge and making something eatable with the contents on my own. That meant a lot of salads for a while but once I got tired of that I reached out a bit further.
During the following years I developed a real passion for food and everything that has to do with it. I can spend hours shopping for groceries, searching for recipes or ways to prepare a certain veg or meat. I also admit to being addicted to cook books, herbs and spices, and if my budget would allow it, my apartment would contain as much kitchenware as a department store.
I am not a trained chef, professional photographer or food stylist but I love food and want to make it an even more important part of my life by writing about my recipes and including some great pictures for you. This allows me to cook even more, shop for more groceries and kitchen accessories and take pictures which I just recently discovered as another great passion of mine.
I am not a vegetarian but I don’t necessarily need meat with every meal either. I love living and eating in a healthy and balanced way, but for great taste, I believe you can not cut out fats and oils of recipes. There is one thing when it comes to food that I truly believe in and that is good quality. That doesn’t mean that you have to spend a lot of money each time you fill your shopping bags, but sometimes the little extra on organic food is well spent and in the end we really are what we eat.
I hope you enjoy my recipes and photos, and please send me lots of feedback.
All the best,
